The factory of Café Quindío was established in 1992 with the intention of offering the highest quality coffee produced in La Zona de Cafetera, Colombia’s traditional coffee region.  While all Colombian coffee originates exclusively from the Arabica species, Cafe Quindío uses only the highest grade, hand-selected coffee cherries from the fincas (farms) of Quindío, thereby creating local employment and benefit for the people of Quindío, the smallest department (province) of Colombia.

The philosophy of Quindío Coffee is to generate employment, add value to the coffee production process, and promote the culture of coffee through education about coffee in all its stages, from sustainable cultivation, harvesting, selection, processing, preparation and the diversity of all its applications.

Café Quindío operates under the quality standards of ISO 9001:2000, as awarded by the internationally recognized L’Instituto Colombiano de Normas Tecnicas y Certifacion (ICONTEC) and the International Certification Network (IQNet).

By virtue of its location, the dedication of its people, and the appropriate use of technology, Café Quindío has achieved recognition and prestige with the palates of the most demanding coffee aficionados around the world.In the domestic market, Café Quindío’s products are currently sold in large grocery store chains, retail outlets, kiosks, and other institutions.  At the international level Café Quindío is distributed in Russia, Chile, Spain, and the United States.
